In winter, the Weißsee Glacier World is an extraordinary high-altitude ski area. Well-groomed slopes of all levels of difficulty and kilometers of untouched deep snow slopes make the hearts of enthusiastic winter sports enthusiasts beat faster. Where holidays are still affordable – 2 children under 12 are free when accompanied by their parents!
Skiers, snowboarders, freeriders and ski tourers are in the right place in the Weißsee Glacier World. Surrounded by the imposing nature of the Hohe Tauern National Park, you can enjoy the winter with us to the fullest. Especially early in the morning when the mountain wakes up, snowshoe hikers have an overwhelming impression that makes everyday life a long way off. Even for the inexperienced, there is an incomparable experience to conquer the mountain with every step, to trudge over crunching snow, to breathe in nature! Sun worshipers enjoy the magnificent winter scenery and relax on the sun terrace in the Berghotel Rudolfshütte or at the Grünsee middle station.
The panorama and family mountain
The ski area in Zell am See, in the heart of the Salzburger Land region, offers winter sports enthusiasts numerous hours of sunshine with fantastic panoramic views. From Zell’s landmark mountain you have unique views of Lake Zell, the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier and no less than 30 three-thousand-metre mountains. The Schmittenhöhe is also one of the top family ski areas in Austria. Slope newbie, little adventurer, courageous high-flyer or absolute pro: On 77 kilometres of slopes, there’s a perfect descent for everyone!
Feel unlimited freedom on wide glacier slopes in natural snow at the Kitzsteinhorn – and this from autumn already! 100% snow-reliability, many freeride routes, snow parks and programmes for ski tourers and cross-country skiers make the glacier ski resort an incredibly diverse destination for all winter sportsmen and women.
The Maiskogel is the central family mountain of the destination. You get to the gentle wide slopes of the Maiskogel directly from Kaprun and enjoy leisurely days of skiing with quaint huts. Beginners and children start at the Lechnerberg – the beginners’ area for skiers and snowboarders.
Hop on and enjoy the breathtaking panorama
You will find more than 600 parking spaces for cars and buses – simple, convenient and safe! A great infrastructure guarantees you a pleasant stay in the Kitzbühel Alps. The small romantic town in the upper Salzachtal is the southern entry point into the wonderful Kitzbühel Alps ski area. While driving with the Panorama lift, which makes up to its name, it has the full range of magnificent alpine world in mind. In just 12 minutes the he panorama lift takes you up to 1892 meters above sea level and from there you can get into 160 km skiing fun.
Wildkogel-Arena Neukirchen and Bramberg
In summer, it is above all hikers, cycling and mountain-bike fans as well as recreation seekers who are drawn to Wildkogel-Arena Neukirchen and Bramberg. But regardless of whether you are interested in sports or simply want to enjoy the glorious nature of the Hohe Tauern National Park Holiday Region – you are certain to be captivated by the unique panoramic views of Austria’s highest mountains.
Especially popular in wintertime: our family-friendly Wildkogel-Arena ski area, ideally suited for beginners, returning skiers as well as families, with 85 % blue- and red-rated pistes. You can also look forward to another great highlight: the world’s longest toboggan run. In addition, we offer many other activities in winter, with something sure to appeal to absolutely everyone.
